The Disney resort
Skirting the eastern edge of Walt Disney World Resort is Lake Buena Vista, a collection of upmarket hotels, shops and restaurants set around scenic lakes and landscaped golf courses. You couldn’t be any closer to the Disney theme parks unless you were staying at Cinderella Castle, and you’re only moments away from Disney Springs for all the best evening entertainment.
The theme parks
Walt Disney World’s theme parks are the reason why visitors come to Lake Buena Vista. The fun begins at the Magic Kingdom with colourful parades along Main Street and supersonic rides like Space Mountain. Then there’s the EPCOT, which takes one giant leap into the future with its G-force space missions and Innovations arcade. And that’s before you’ve thought about Animal Kingdom Park’s safaris or Hollywood Studios’ behind-the-scenes tours.
Disney Springs
When you need a break from all the thrills and spills of the theme parks, Disney Springs is the perfect tonic. Set on the shores of Lake Buena Vista Lagoon, this bustling commercial district is split into 3 zones. There’s the West Side with its evening shows, Pleasure Island with its list of top restaurants, and the Marketplace, where shops like Lego Imagination Center and a mammoth World of Disney stay open late.
Florida sun
If you’re hankering after more conventional holiday attractions, Lake Buena Vista is happy to oblige. There are 2 waterparks and 5 golf courses on your doorstep. And Lake Bryan, on the southeast edge of the resort, has jet-skiing, wakeboarding, plus a white sand beach where you can soak up the Florida sun.
